God is a cosmic force.

God is not a micro-manager. God does not audit your posture, your vocabulary, your diet, or your wardrobe. God is not sitting in judgment over whether you faced the correct compass bearing while speaking.

God is indifferent to human concepts of “good” and “evil.” These are our categories, built by us, useful to us, and enforced by us. They are not a cosmic scoreboard.

God has granted humanity absolute free will. Not conditional free will. Not free will with a supervisor. Absolute.

This is the part most religions cannot bring themselves to accept, because a God who genuinely does not micro-manage leaves the clergy with nothing to sell.

Then what is the point?

To lead a noble life without harming others.

To find peace. To give peace. To create happiness where you can.

That is the whole purpose, and it does not require a building, an intermediary, a uniform, or a schedule.
